Champagne Bar to add some fizz to your Fridays

The Champagne Bar at Southsea Castle will return this year to give Friday nights a touch of glamour.

Each Friday from 26 May to 1 September will see the castle come to life with live music, DJs and, of course, some fizz. Entry will be free for all events, apart from the first and last weekend, which are ticketed specials and cost £10 (tickets can be purchased here). Advance booking for the opening and closing parties is recommended as they have sold out in previous years.

The Champagne Bar will also be running during the Victorious Festival weekend (August 25-27), but will only be accessible to festival ticketholders.

A full itinerary of music guests for the summer season will be announced nearer the time, but you can expect some of the best names on the local and national scene. The opening party will feature DJ Elliott Gregg and the Freestyle Funk Collective performing live. Expect some funk covers of huge chart hits - alongside some classics from across the decades.

Each session runs from 6pm until late, and offers a wide variety, from champagne to prosecco and beyond. Revellers can enjoy being out under the stars in the castle courtyard during good weather, or take refuge under the marquee if it turns wet or cold.
