Wednesday 7 October

Craft Sessions for Carers/Parents

10.30am - 12noon and 1.30 - 3pm

Join us for a relaxing craft session as we explore some beautiful materials and make lovely objects for you to take home. Experiment with gold and silver threads, wire and fabrics and help us to make a hive of sparking bees inspired by the travels of Edward Lear's Jumblies.

If you care for an adult or child we'd love to meet you.No previous experience is needed and all materials will be provided but you must be over 16 years of age.

Travelling Together Down Memory Lane - story sharing session for men and women aged 60+

11am - 3pm

Take a trip down memory lane and share your stories of journeys around Portsmouth and beyond over tea and biscuits.

Free.  Everyone aged 60+ welcome.

Workshop and storytelling session

Workshop and storytelling session with one of the Rastamouse creators, Michael de Souza, followed by the opening of The Story of Children’s Television exhibition.

Tuesday 27th October

Square Eyes - family craft activities

11am - 3pm

Enjoy art and craft activities inspired by children's TV past and present.  In true Blue Peter style use cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and sticky backed plastic to create a mini TV set plus your favourite TV character and much more besides.

A Creation Station workshop suitable for children aged 2 - 11 years.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Drop-in, no need to book.  £3 per child or £1.75 with Portsmouth Leisure Card.

Wednesday 28th October

Crime Scene Investigation: from Sherlock Holmes to the 21st century detective

10.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30 - 3.30pm

Release your inner detective as we invite you to investigate a crime scene and analyse the evidence. Learn about the techniques used by super sleuth Sherlock Holmes and compare them with the work of CSIs today. Can you crack the case and earn your Museum Detective badge? Event run in partnership with the University of Portsmouth. Suitable for children aged 7+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
