Pancake Day Activities

Visit Portsmouth Museum on Tuesday 17th February for loads of pancake themed activities. Free event. 10am - 4.30pm.

Wednesday 18th February

Once Upon an Object... Half-Term Story Telling for Families

Join story teller Michael O’Leary as he tells fascinating tales featuring objects on show in our major new exhibition, A Hard Choice. Why not visit the exhibition beforehand to choose your own favourites and see if they appear in the stories?
Recommended for families with children aged 7+.  
1pm - 1:40pm. The session lasts approximately 40 minutes.  Free. No need to book.

Prints master class with Collections Manager Rosalinda Hardiman

A rare chance to study historic and modern prints from the collections of Portsmouth Museums to learn about the main print making techniques used by artists and how to recognise them.  If you’d like to know the difference between an engraving and an etching or an aquatint and a mezzotint then this is the class for you.

Tuesday 31st March

The Teddy Bear Doctors

Bring your teddy bear along for free advice on identification, age or ‘clinical’ needs from local experts and restorers, Julie and Amanda from Bear it in Mind.  Demonstrations of traditional bear making techniques throughout the day.
Cost - Free.  Small charge for repairs carried out on the day such as eye replacements and claw stitching.
Booking - No need to book, just drop in
